I am advocating for World Safe ePay Day.

The final goal of all my Blog Posts and social media interactions is to have a Day declared as World Safe ePay Day.

**A Trio of Celebrations: Harmony, Safety, and Style**

As we celebrate World Steelpan Day on August 11th, we honor the rich cultural heritage and innovative spirit that the steelpan represents. In harmony with this celebration, the conceptual observances of World Safe ePay Day and World Blouse Day offer unique opportunities to explore themes of safety in technology and the joy of cultural expression through fashion. Together, these observances create a vibrant tapestry of creativity, inclusivity, and progress.

**World Steelpan Day: A Melody of Cultural Heritage**

World Steelpan Day is a tribute to the enduring legacy of the steelpan, a musical instrument that originated in Trinidad and Tobago. This day celebrates the steelpan's journey from humble beginnings to global recognition, highlighting its role in promoting cultural diversity and sustainable development. The steelpan's melodies resonate with the spirit of unity, creativity, and resilience, reminding us of the power of cultural expression to inspire positive change.

**World Safe ePay Day: Securing the Digital Future**

In a world increasingly reliant on digital transactions, World Safe ePay Day aims to raise awareness about the importance of secure electronic payments. Currently in its conceptual stage, this observance envisions a future where Safe ePay highlights the need for creative solutions to ensure the safety and efficiency of digital financial interactions. It encourages individuals and organizations to embrace secure payment practices, fostering trust and confidence in the digital economy.

**World Blouse Day: A Celebration of Fashion and Identity**

World Blouse Day envisions a global celebration of the blouse as a symbol of cultural expression and personal identity. Still in its conceptual stage, this day imagines people wearing blouses that reflect a chosen theme, creating a vibrant display of togetherness and shared identity through fashion. Like the steelpan, which transformed everyday objects into instruments of beauty, blouses offer a canvas for creativity and unity, celebrating the joy of clothing as a medium for cultural expression and connection.

United Nations Resolution No A/RES/77/316

World Steelpan Day, proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly on August 11, celebrates the cultural and historical significance of the steelpan instrument, which originated in Trinidad and Tobago.

The resolution, adopted on July 24, 2023, emphasizes the steelpan's role in promoting cultural diversity, social and economic development, and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The steelpan is recognized for its contribution to inclusive societies, sustainable communities, and the creative economy, with positive impacts on mental health, gender equality, and youth empowerment.

The resolution encourages UN member states, organizations, and stakeholders to observe World Steelpan Day annually through cultural and educational activities such as performances, workshops, and exhibitions. It also highlights the importance of voluntary contributions, including from the private sector, to support these activities. The resolution calls for the Secretary-General to promote awareness of World Steelpan Day among UN member states and relevant organizations.

International days are established to raise awareness, educate the public, and mobilize resources to address global issues, while also celebrating human achievements. These days are a powerful advocacy tool embraced by the United Nations to promote international awareness and action on various themes, including peace, sustainable development, human rights, and humanitarian action. The UN General Assembly or specialized agencies designate these observances, allowing various stakeholders, including governments, civil society, and citizens, to organize related activities.

International days are proposed by UN Member States and adopted by consensus by the General Assembly. Each theme is linked to the UN's core areas of action, with resolutions often detailing the reasons behind the proclamation. For instance, International Day for the Eradication of Obstetric Fistula highlights the link between poverty and health issues, while International Widows' Day focuses on challenges faced by widows and their children.

These observances also guide states on actions to address pressing global issues. For example, the International Day of Biological Diversity encourages states to sign protocols protecting biodiversity. The impact of these days is measured by engagement levels worldwide, with international observances being some of the most visited pages on the UN website.

Some of the most popular international days include International Women’s Day (8 March), World Water Day (22 March), International Day of Peace (21 September), and International Day of Human Rights (10 December). Observances often feature diverse initiatives, such as cultural events, competitions, and exhibitions, engaging individuals globally. Additionally, March 21 marks five different international days, and June is the month with the most international days.
