I am advocating for World Safe ePay Day.
The final goal of all my Blog
Posts and social media interactions is to have a Day declared as World Safe ePay Day.
**18 July - Nelson Mandela
International Day**
Nelson Mandela International Day is a day of
remembrance and not an observance day.
This is a day to remember the power
of one’s beliefs in daily life.
### Honoring
Nelson Mandela
and Envisioning World Safe ePay Day
#### What is Mandela
Day?
On 18 July every year, we invite
you to mark Nelson Mandela
International Day by making a difference in your communities. Everyone has the
ability and the responsibility to change the world for the better! Mandela
Day is an occasion for all to take action and inspire change. It is celebrated
every year in honor of the first democratically elected President of South
Africa, the late Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela.
#### 67 Years
in Service of Humanity
Nelson Mandela devoted his life to the
service of humanity — as a human rights lawyer, a prisoner of conscience, an
international peacemaker, and the first democratically elected president of a
free South Africa.
#### How Did
the Day Come About?
In November 2009, in recognition
of the former South African President’s contribution to the culture of peace
and freedom, the UN General Assembly declared 18 July "Nelson Mandela
International Day". Resolution A/RES/64/13 recognizes Mandela’s values and his dedication to
the service of humanity in conflict resolution, race relations, promotion and
protection of human rights, reconciliation, gender equality, and the rights of
children and other vulnerable groups, the fight against poverty, and the
promotion of social justice.
The resolution acknowledges his
contribution to the struggle for democracy internationally and the promotion of
a culture of peace throughout the world.
#### Nelson Mandela
Rules
In December 2015, the General
Assembly extended the scope of Nelson Mandela International Day to promote
humane conditions of imprisonment, raise awareness about prisoners being a
continuous part of society, and value the work of prison staff as a social
service of particular importance. General Assembly resolution A/RES/70/175 not
only adopted the revised United Nations Standard Minimum Rules for the
Treatment of Prisoners but also approved that they should be known as the
"Nelson Mandela
Rules" in honor of the legacy of the late President of South Africa, who
spent 27 years in prison.
#### Mandela’s
Legacy and World Safe ePay Day
As we celebrate Nelson Mandela
International Day, we also look to the future and envision the establishment of
World Safe ePay Day.
This conceptual day aims to
promote secure and accessible digital payment systems worldwide, reflecting Mandela’s
commitment to justice, equality, and human dignity.
In times of turbulence, Nelson Mandela
shows us the power of resisting oppression, of justice over inequality, of
dignity over humiliation, of forgiveness over hatred.
As the world takes forward the
2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and strives to overcome new sources of
adversity, let us recall the lessons of Nelson Mandela’s life, and the essential
humanism that guided him: “For to be free is not merely to cast off one's
chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.”
#### The
Vision of World Safe ePay Day
World Safe ePay Day, still
in its conceptual stage, aims to ensure that everyone can participate in the
digital economy safely and securely. By promoting secure electronic payment
systems, we can empower individuals and communities, reduce inequality, and
foster economic growth.
This initiative echoes Mandela’s
lifelong commitment to serving humanity and promoting peace and equality.
#### A Call
to Action
Nelson Mandela International Day isn’t just
about remembering Mandela’s
achievements.
It’s a call to action for
everyone to inspire change and improve the world.
From fighting against apartheid
to advocating for the environment, Mandela’s legacy teaches us to strive
for a world where everyone is free, equal, and living in harmony with nature.
Let’s dedicate 67 minutes of our
time
— one minute for each year of Mandela’s public service — to help
others. This initiative encourages us to take small steps toward making a big
difference, echoing Mandela’s
lifelong commitment to serving humanity.

Celebrating Mandela
Day and Embracing World Safe ePay Day
Celebrating Nelson Mandela
International Day can be a blast with creativity and goodwill! Here are some
vibrant and heartwarming ways to honor Madiba’s legacy on July 18th, while also
embracing the principles behind the conceptual World
Safe ePay Day:
**Make New Friends**:
Cross-cultural bridges and enrich your life. Learning about different
backgrounds wipes out fear and builds worlds of understanding. Just as Mandela
advocated for unity and equality, World Safe ePay
Day aims to create a digital environment where everyone feels
secure and included.
**Share Your Skills**: Swap
skills with others in your community to fortify bonds and empower one another.
Similarly, sharing knowledge about safe online practices and digital payment
security can help others navigate the digital world confidently, aligning with
the goals of World Safe ePay Day.
**Embark on an Adventure**:
Exploring new places can open your eyes to the beauty around and within.
Likewise, exploring new technologies and secure digital payment methods can
enhance your understanding and safety in the online world.
**Lend a Hand to Furry Friends**: Animal
shelters always need extra hands. Walking a dog or cuddling a cat can spread
joy. This act of kindness parallels the ethos of World
Safe ePay Day, where creating a safe and trusted digital
environment brings peace of mind to users.
**Warmth for the Winter**: Gather
new or gently used blankets and share them with those in need. Just as this
gesture provides comfort, ensuring safe and secure ePay systems offers
financial comfort and protection to users worldwide.
**Volunteer Virtually or
Locally**: Dedicating time to help others in your community or online
can create waves of change. Volunteering to educate others about the importance
of digital security can spread awareness and foster a safer online community,
supporting the mission of World Safe ePay
Day.
**Support a Cause Close to Your
Heart**: Donating or raising awareness can keep Mandela’s spirit of service alive.
Similarly, supporting initiatives that promote digital security and safe
ePayments contributes to a more secure and equitable digital world, resonating
with the values of World Safe ePay Day.
As we celebrate Nelson Mandela
International Day, let’s also envision a future where digital transactions are
safe and secure for everyone. By intertwining the spirit of Mandela
Day with the goals of World Safe ePay
Day, we can honor Mandela’s legacy while striving for a
world where technology serves humanity with integrity and trust.
As we look forward to celebrating
World Safe ePay Day, we are reminded of
the importance of security and trust in our digital transactions, echoing Mandela’s
values of justice and equality. Similarly, initiatives like World Blouse Day
can highlight the importance of cultural diversity and gender equality,
continuing Mandela’s
legacy in new and innovative ways.
Remember, celebrating Mandela
Day isn’t just about remembering a great leader; it’s about embodying his
values and making the world a little brighter, just as he did.
So, let’s roll up our sleeves and
spread some kindness, one act at a time, while we also dream of a safer digital
future with World Safe ePay Day and
embrace cultural diversity with World Blouse Day.
Together, we can honor Nelson Mandela’s
legacy and work towards a world of peace, equality, and secure digital
transactions for all.
